About me
Hello! I'm Ben. I'm a third-year Modern and Medieval Languages (Spanish and Italian) student at the University of Cambridge. At A-Level and then university, Modern Languages ceases merely to be a question of poring over old grammar books and instead becomes a journey into different cultures through the study of their art and history. You cannot have one without the other, though - and my aim is to speed up the transition. Using my first-hand experience of what helped me clear my exams with the top grades from Common Entrance to second year of Cambridge, I hope to provide a marriage of practical grammar work and cultural exploration (the direction of which is determined by your interests!) to help you really get something out of your study of modern languages and cultures. Moreover, if exams/university admissions are your biggest worry at the moment, I can offer expert advice as one who has been there and done that - and recently to boot! I can say with authority what academics are looking for in personal statements, what does and does not work at interview, what is true and what is a myth as regards the Oxbridge admissions process - in short, what makes a strong candidate.
