I have a RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Competent Crew certificate, level 2 first aid in the workplace, and A-levels. I did the Spanish Batchillerato for a year, although I didn't finish it because I moved to a different part of the country and started my A-levels. I have am certified C1 in english (IELTS 7.5), and have native level of Spanish, Catalan and English (all mother tongue, and am comfortable teaching in all three languages).
About me
Hello, My name is Xavi, I am a university student in Glasgow Caledonian university, studying cyber security and digital forensics. I did my international A-Levels in Maths, Chemistry, and Spanish, as well as having an As level in physics. I have been a tutor for over three years now and find the job very rewarding, I have helped multiple students study towards their mathematics, Spanish and English SATs (American admission test), as well as having done a lot of work on AQA chemistry and maths. I am in my third year of cyber security and digital forensics and have a very good understanding of Python, Bash scripting and JavaScript, as well as having worked with C++, C# and HTML & CSS for projects. I always try to approach teaching by getting to the root of the topic the student doesn't understand, and explaining using models and metaphors to achieve a very intuitive understanding, making the student feel comfortable that they have a good grasp of the subject as harder concepts are introduced. I excel at teaching students how to utilize mark schemes and past papers to their fullest potential, not by doing every question that has ever existed, but by helping the student understand what are the key steps in answering any given question, and how to make sure no marks are missed along the way.
