About me
About me: TEFL - Teaching English as a Second Language Exam Board Experience: I completed my GCSE's and A Levels with AQA and as an Exams Officer I have experience of AQA and Edexcel examination boards. Languages: English Native speaker. French A2 (working towards B1) My preferred student age group are adults with English as a Second language About me: I have a BA Hons in Criminology and Sociology from The University of Liverpool. My working background has always been around young people and/or education, working as a Youth Worker for 17 years and also in the education sector for 9 years. As a School Liaison Officer, I gained extensive experience in developing Schemes of Work for young people aged 11 - 16, and in particular with ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) students. My teaching style is friendly, patient and motivational. Whilst my lessons are fun and engaging, I keep on track and pay attention to detail, ensuring the lesson aims and objectives are met and student goals are achieved. Originally from the UK, I am currently living in France, working as an English Tutor with French speaking adults. I specialise in teaching English as a Second Language, with over 500 hours tutoring experience; group work and 1:1. I have experience of tutoring students from differing cultures and backgrounds and take my time to familiarise myself with each culture, traditions and formalities in preparation for my lessons. After a long career helping people be the best they can be, I love talking with, and meeting, new people. I am passionate about animals, nature, veganism, climate change and I enjoy sports such as running, cycling, swimming, aerobics and Zumba. I love watching most sports, particularly football.
