I have always been a very maths/science orientated student. At GCSE level, I obtained a grade 9 in maths and an A* in physics. Other notable grades include an A* (German); A's (biology, chemistry, business studies, PE); and a grade 7 (English language). At A-level I studied maths, further maths and physics and achieved A*A*A*. I am currently studying mechanical engineering (MEng, 4 years) at the University of Manchester.

What many people may not realise is that all three are heavily rich in maths and physics. From the equation of the path followed by a ball, to the moments of forces involved when picking up a bar, and even to the quantum interactions that allow paper to rest on a table without falling through. Maths/physics is everywhere, and I think that's beautiful. My curiosity for how vehicles work has led me to mechanical engineering, which I study at the University of Manchester. I hope to one day use my knowledge to help design and create technology that will benefit both us and our planet.
